Our Story

Hi there! We're Ollie and Marine, the co-founders of Mallie. Our journey began in the most unexpected of places – a festival-style wedding in the UK. We had matching outfits made for the event, a vibrant celebration of love and music. We found ourselves constantly being asked where people could buy our unique attire. That night, surrounded by friends, laughter, and the pulsating energy of the festival, we had a light bulb moment. For a while, we had been toying with different business ideas, but nothing seemed quite right. That all changed at the wedding. The positive response to our matching outfits sparked the idea for Millie. We realized there was a desire for distinctive, festival-style clothing that carried the essence of African patterns and craftsmanship.

Our vision for Mallie is simple: to bring the vibrant, joyful spirit of festival fashion to the world, all while supporting local artisans in Senegal. We aim to create a community around our brand, one that celebrates creativity, authenticity, and cultural richness. By using local products like wax cloth and collaborating with talented local tailors, we ensure that every piece we create is not just a garment, but a story woven with care and tradition.
The Journey
From the moment we decided to turn our idea into reality, we began meticulously planning and developing our brand. The process has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding. Marine, with her artistic flair, handles the design and creative aspects, ensuring every piece reflects our unique aesthetic. I, Ollie, take care of customer relations, website management, and logistics, making sure our products reach you seamlessly.

Living the Dream
We are fortunate to call Senegal our home, a place rich in culture and tradition that inspires our work every day. Here, we work closely with local artisans to bring our designs to life, using vibrant wax cloth and traditional craftsmanship. Our connection to Senegal is the heart of Mallie, infusing our products with authenticity and soul.In the summer, we often return to the UK, where we reconnect with friends and the festival scene that sparked our idea. We love traveling in our old VW campervan, bringing a bit of Senegalese sunshine and style to the British summer. Our travels allow us to stay connected with our roots and the community that inspired Mallie.
